2015 ELECTIONS: Police bans Man O’ War, others from polling stations

The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has barred uniformed private/government security agencies and voluntary organisations from polling units in the upcoming elections.

Among such uniformed private/government agencies barred from the polling units are Boys Scout, Vigilante Group, Boys Brigade, Peace Ambassador and Man'O War.

Abba said on no account must they be seen within 300 metres of a polling unit.
A statement on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu said: "Again, the Police High Command has restated the restriction of vehicular movement during the general elections on 28th March, 2015 and 11th April, 2015, respectively. The restriction will be from 8.00am to 5.00pm on both election days."

The police also warned politicians and VIPs not to go to polling units on the day of the election with armed orderlies.

Abba said the use of siren, revolving lights and tinted glasses by unauthorised citizens would not be allowed.
