Nnmadi Azikwe University Suspends Five Lecturers For Misconduct: See Details

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), has taken some disciplinary actions against some of its lecturers in Awka. The University has officially placed five of its lecturers on suspension for examination misconduct. The Institution's Director of Publication, Emma Ojukwu confirmed the suspensions in an address of Newsmen on Tuesday.

He revealed that the suspension of the lecturers became official on March 2 and the lecturers were to be suspended for three months with only half salaries, pending the conclusion of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee Report. The Mr Emma noted that the lecturers were from the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry and the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering. The lecturers were accused of providing answers to student and awarding frivolous marks to underserving students.

The other offences include the failure to submit examination attendance list, soliciting of funds from students for upgrading of results, sharp practices and irregularities in result sheets. He however revealed there were plans on ground to fish out the culprits and students that have benefited from the illicit practices of the lecturers.
