One of the most versatile and most celebrated Ondo State based broadcaster, AMBASSADOR BABAYEMI SEGUN-BABS is a young man making very quiet revolutionary and frantic effort to sustain the Yoruba tradition and culture through his broadcasting exploits.
AMB.SEGUN-BABS immense contributions to the Nigerian broadcasting and entertainment sector today as the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Ile-Alayo Media Empire which produced and nurtured Orimamamolo the great Akoko singer.
This Segun Babs, Ile–Alayo Entertainment is an Akure-based multi-facets Marketing Communication Outfit that is deeply rooted in the Ondo State capital has an unbroken record of 15years of broadcasting with about 800 episodes of his weekly Ile Alayo Progrmme.
Segun-Babs is a frontline member of the Nigerian professional broadcasting association known as the Federation of Independent Broadcasters Associations in Nigeria [FIBAN] where he was last year elected as the 1st Vice President of FIBAN and seat on the same executive with the likes of Comrade Yemi Sonde as the National President and Yinka Aiyefele as his 2nd Vice President.
Before his recent election as 1st Vice President,Segun-Babs had been saddled with different strategic positions as the pioneer Chairman of the Ondo State Chapter of FIBAN till 2001 and his tenure still remain a landmark in the history of the association in the entire South-West.
Among Ile Alayo,Segun-Babs wave making contemporaries in the broadcasting industry here in Ondo State includes the likes of Olubunmi Tomogun,Abimbola Olanbiwonninu,Femi Ogundayisi-Oluomo,Akeem OmoOde,Baba Iyere,Ojo Ajayi, Sunkanmi Adebayo-Joge,Adebayo Babasukudi,King Adenuga El-Shaddai,Biodun Fabunmi,Dan Wahab,Baba Ondo,Taiwo Adebayo-Gold,and Bisi Ajiboye-Shogigun.
He nurture his now globally known Ile–Alayo brand as Segun-Babs is refers to by his admirers in and out of the industry with great care.This multi-talented entertainer and highly professional broadcaster of repute have carved a niche for himself by making his brand an household name.
He came into the broadcasting industry with a rare combination, rich pedigree of determinant and as a passionate artiste who honed his broadcasting talent and have his training and bagged a diploma certificate at the prolific Ibadan based broadcaster and On-Air-Personality [OAP], Alhaji Gboyega Lawal's Broadcasting Training Institute, Oyo State.
He was some years earlier discovered by the some industry giants like the veteran comedian and broadcaster late Prince Gbenga Adeboye-Funwontan fame whose prophetic declaration came to manifest when he heeded this advice by relocating from Ibadan, Oyo State to Akure in 1996.
On arriving Akure, Segun Babs found his way to the studio of Ondo State Radiovision Corporation [OSRC] when he joined Alhaji Fatai Dan-Wahab Aka Balogun Efe to Co-Present the "Wakati Efe" on A.M. Radio of OSRC. Then he handle the "Iroyin to Serious" segment and "Se e Wa" on Broadcasting Station of Ekiti State [BSES]on A.M Radio, Ifaki -Ekiti State.
He entered the industry as 'Omo Germany' in the process of exhibiting his gift and real gem released an album titled "World Worker Onise Aye"
A year later in 1997,Segun-Babs debuted 'Ile–Alayo' a weekly television magazine programme on OSRC precisely on Sunday,1997 and it has become the flagship of entertainment in South West and this was part of his achievement in the industry.
The Ile–Alayo programme started as a combine brainwork of both Chief Olurotimi Aina Kusoro, the initiator of Jagunmolu Imasae Foundation and Ile Alayo as the marketing arm of High Waves Video Mart.
This collaborative effort was facilitated by both late Alade Aromire and Tunde Adebayo the CEO/MD of Frank Communications, Akure then the producer of the programme at OSRC
With that same dexterity that he started the first episode of the Segun-Babs had made Ile–Alayo as the name implies an elixir that brings happiness to the homes which has also made the programme a must watch for the viewers every Sunday between 2-3pm on OSRC TV,Akure, Ondo State.
The high pedestals set by Segun-Babs for the Ile–Alayo T.V programme has immensely impacted on the entertainment circle through his mode of presentation, modification and positive contributions to the Nigeria entertainment circle.
And for this reason there have been torrent of awards bestowed on Segun-Babs from some reputable local and international organizations who were falling over themselves to honour this great icon.
He has won many numerous awards as Erudite Entertainer, Most Exciting Programme, Best Promoter, Industrious Presenter,Mayor of Entertainment, Media Leadership Award, African Pillar of Entertainment among others.
He is a proud recipent of the CITY PEOPLE AWARD IN 2014 for his remarkable contribution to the Growth of FIBAN on the 24th September,2014 @ Ibadan,Oyo State during a FIBAN national event.
Also in the process of extending the frontiers of his reach, Ile–Alayo has taken the programme to different parts of the world when he embarked on the much publicized periodic entertainment roadshow.
This glamorous tour took him to great cities and countries like Londo, UK., Russian, Ghana, Cote De Vore, Togo, Republic of Benin and South Africa.
Presently, his vision to extend the reach of the programme to other South West States is nearly completion as two Satellite Stations have signified intention to air the programme as from next quarter.

This broadcaster, author, publisher, talent hunter, mentor, musician, dramatist all rolled into one was born over 40years ago at Isaba Ekiti, Ikole Ekiti the same town where Elemure Oguyemi the great legendary Ekiti musician hails from attended the ancient St. Paul Catholic School, Ikole-Ekiti from there he moved to Lagos to later attended the Ikosi High School,Ketu Lagos between 1980-1985.
His strong passion for the media profession also took him to the famous citadel of communication excellence, the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, NIJ,Ogba-Lagos in 1990.
Before embarking on his broadcasting exploits and adventures, Segun-Babs had a stint with the veteran playright, dramatist and actor, ALHAJI SANYA-OLU popularly called Pa CHARLES OLUMO-AGBAKO in the film and theaters world.
And he acted in a number of Nigerian Home videos even before the popular fad now known as the Nollywood which he still contributed his quota promoting these indigenous works of arts but dumped theater for music.
In his musical career, Segun-Babs was at a time a band boy, back-up singer, vocalist, song writer and Artiste Manger with likes of the the Juju Crooner, MICHO ADE,the 'LALALE FRIDAY' Afro-Juju fame, WALE THOMPSON at Ibadan respectively from where he sharpens his art of songwriting and musical prowess.
As a singer and professional musician, Segun-Babs is an artiste with special skill in classical Afro-Juju genre with about five albums to his credit
