INEC declares Ekiti council poll inconclusive, fixes date for fresh poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared the House of Assembly election conducted in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State last Saturday as inconclusive due to the pockets of crisis recorded.

INEC, through its Ekiti State Public Relations Officer, Taiwo Gbadegeshin, said a repeat of the election will take place in 20 units of the local government on April 18.

Governor Ayo Fayose had mentioned Ilejemeje as one of the areas where ballot snatching was recorded during the election.

The INEC had earlier ratified results of 25 councils.
