Politicians Conceding defeat is not such a good idea, It is affecting our business Says Lawyers

Nigeria has seen a new trend of politicians conceding defeat to their opponents after losing elections

Nigeria has seen a new trend of politicians conceding defeat to their opponents after losing elections. This trend was first known of from Fayemi of Ekiti State, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and lost to Fayose of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

This trend was then made popular by the outgoing President, Goodluck Jonathan, who conceded defeat and called his major opponent, Muhammadu Buhari, to congratulate him on his victory.

The general mass of Nigerians are happy with this new trend as it is seen as a way to pacify loyal supporters of the losing candidate, which will in turn curb violence.

Some people might low-key not be very happy with this new trend.

A famous lawyer, Festus Keyamo, tweeted this on Sunday:

When you look at the amount of money that would have been spent in hiring lawyers, and then the other costs spent by lawyers on whatever it is they spend when someone hires them, you know this is bad for business.

Hopefully, they'll get busy when the President-elect is sworn in as there'll be many court visits as regards monies that disappeared into thin air and all that.

Hopefully, the lawyers won't have to wait for long.
