The way you dress is the way you will be addressed. Your dressing say a lot about you; by extension it also tells about your understanding about the job you are applying for.
At interviews, first impression matters. First impression often times is a lasting one too. Thus, your dressing for job interviews matters!
From today, prepare your dress or clothing for the Call Centre Agent interview you have applied for. So that whenever you are called upon your dresses or clothes are ready! Get them ironed, crispy and free from long storage smells.
You must also note that you are a product. You need to be branded; or rather, you need to brand yourself and be well packaged.
ADVANTAGES OF A GOOD DRESSING
ü It gives you confidence with the interview panel.
ü It makes you comfortable before the panel of interviewers.
ü You are not squirming within ill fitted clothe and not having to adjust your tight skirt, tight shirts or tight pant trousers, etc.
ü You are not a distraction to the panel.
ü You are not suggesting sexual passes, etc.
ü You are not interrupting the flow of the interview and your speech.
These are my Recommendations:
1. I suggest corporate dressing on your interview days.
2. A long-sleeved shirt or long-sleeved blouse is preferable. The colour of your top (shirt or blouse) could be white, pastel or sky blue.
3. Your shoes must be well polished and most times should be black.
4. Let your shirt be free from holes, tear and see to it that no button is missing.
5. Hairstyles that are funny and weird should be avoided. Clean and well-groomed hairstyle is highly encouraged.
6. Fingernails must be clean and trimmed.
7. Your cologne or perfume should be mild and not excessive because it might cause distraction.
8. Heavy make-ups and big or excessive jewelries could create distraction, thus, should be avoided, except you are applying for a job in the entertainment industry.
9. Do not go into the interview with chewing gums, sweets or cigarettes.
10. I suggest for ladies, not to carry big bags, because you may need to manage space. Instead, carry a small purse or small folder.
11. Shoes heels should be moderate and comfortable. Your shoes should not make noise.
12. Dangling earrings and dangling bangles could be a distraction. Minimize the distraction and avoid it.
13. Men should always wear a tie to their job interviews. If a strip shirt is worn a plain tie should be used and vice versa.
14. The colour of your belt should compliment your shoes colour.
We cannot exhaust this topic. But we have simply suggested tidbits that would make you look like a real man or woman fitting to work in a corporate workplace environment.
