1.         WHO ARE YOU?:

This question could come in various shades and styles like:

Can we meet you? Tell us about you? Can you introduce yourself?, etc.

 

This is all about introducing yourself. It is an opportunity to sell yourself as a product to be bought. It is the time to attract and convince your employer that you are a good product to be bought and invested in. however, do not overdo it.

All that the interviewers want in place is the stuff that can add value to the company. Channel your response to the activities around your intended company and position applied for. No irrelevant information!

 

Your Answer:

Your response to the question should include:

·      Your name as you have it on your CV,

·      Your qualifications

·      Strongest skills

·      The things you do best

·      Your greatest area of knowledge

·      Your greatest personality strengths and

·      Most of your major accomplishments in life

 

2.         WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU?

This is the question used to check how you respond to pressure. It is good to prepare for this.

 

3.         WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS AS AN EMPLOYEE?

In answering this question you need to have a description of the position you are applying for. Thereafter, you identify your strength and areas you can add more value to the company.

 

4.         WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO IMPROVE YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN THE LAST YEAR?

Sometime this question is put across many candidates who have graduated for over 2 years from their various disciplines.

 

Answer:

In responding to this  relate the job skills you have acquired, the books read, seminars attended and information acquired, etc.

 

5.         WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS PARTICULAR CAREER PATH?

Tell your interviewer that you are in this path because of your passion for it. Do not let them see through you that you are in the path for the money or desperate for the job.

 

6.         WHAT PARTICULAR SKILLS AND QUALITIES WOULD YOU BRING TO THE WORKFORCE?

Here interviewers are looking at how you can be of great impact on the development of the job recognizing your strengths and weaknesses.

 

7.         WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YOU, THE MONEY OR THE WORK?

Money is important. Most workers are working because they want to have a means of meeting their needs. So do not say money is not important. It may make you sound hypocritical. Work is important to your employers. So you need to balance it.

 

Answer:

It is better to say: "both money and work are very important. However, work is important because without work, more money cannot be got."
